First as Farce, then as More Farce

1. Our President announces a policy that is sometimes crazy but often entirely reasonable, in this case withdrawing troops from Syria.

2. The media and the deep state get angry, denouncing the policy, in this case by claiming it’s an “abandonment” of the Kurds, as without American human shields training units, Turkey will invade.

3. The President and his defenders fire back, pointing out that it is hardly “abandoning” the Kurds and that Turkey can be contained without a ground force. Supporters of the President congratulate him for “fighting” and “standing up to” the media and the deep state.

4. Nothing changes, and next week everyone is distracted by a different policy announcement and forgets the whole thing.
